Chapter 8: The Beauty in the Ice
“Impossible!”
Before Liu Qian could even react, he let out a miserable scream. A hole exploded open in his chest, and as blood splattered everywhere, his body collapsed to the ground.
Qin Yefeng’s clothes were stained red by the splashing blood, but he didn’t care at all. He simply began searching the unknown man’s body.
Inside the man’s storage pouch, Qin Yefeng found several talisman papers, dozens of spirit stones, and a long jade handle engraved with characters.
At the center of the jade handle were four ancient, simple characters: Shengyang Academy. Beneath them was a smaller line of script: Outer Court Disciple Liu Qian.
Only then did Qin Yefeng realize that the one who had tried to assassinate him was actually an outer disciple of Shengyang Academy.
Boom!
Qin Yefeng clenched his fist and smashed the jade handle into pieces. The muscles on his face twitched as he gritted his teeth fiercely.
It must have been Qin Xue who sent him to kill me. Qin Yefeng and you cannot exist under the same sky!
Following the flow of a great river, Qin Yefeng arrived at a crescent-shaped hot spring known as the Ice-Fire Pool.
The reason for its name was simple—the water beneath was bone-chillingly cold, while the surface was extremely warm, like a hot spring.
Qin Yefeng had discovered this place by chance while hunting demonic beasts in Blackwater Marsh.
From here, the entire marsh appeared shrouded in mist, exuding a dark and eerie aura. Yet this spot was filled with white vapor, bringing an inexplicable sense of peace.
Having just killed Liu Qian, Qin Yefeng’s body carried a strong scent of blood. The pool was perfect for washing it off.
Closing his eyes, Qin Yefeng soaked in the warm water, enjoying the comfort it brought. The hot spring relaxed his entire body.
Suddenly, in the distance, a large block of ice—about the height of a person—floated up from the depths of the pool. Inside it, there was clearly a human figure!
Qin Yefeng immediately drew his blade, staring intently at the strange ice block.
After hesitating for a moment, he decided to swim over and investigate.
Holding the freezing ice, he discovered that inside was an exceptionally beautiful woman, sealed within.
Her face, partially covered by a white mask, looked breathtaking. Her long hair flowed like a dream, and her exposed jade-like feet were mesmerizing.
Her expression was serene, as if she were a sleeping immortal.
A thin layer of white gauze clung loosely to her slender waist, revealing her graceful figure.
Seeing such a stunning beauty so close, Qin Yefeng couldn’t help but feel excited.
After all, he had never even held a woman’s hand before. How could he not have certain thoughts when faced with a woman like this?
He carried the block of ice to the shore and placed it on the grass.
This alluring beauty’s chest rose faintly, her fair skin exposed at the neck, her clothes in disarray, and her long, pale legs partially visible—it made Qin Yefeng’s mouth go dry. He struck the ice with a punch, shattering it.
As he broke the ice, he noticed that the spiritual energy within her body was extremely unstable—it seemed she had failed a breakthrough and suffered a backlash.
From her body, dark blue ice crystals continuously formed, emitting a chilling aura.
Taiyin Cold Body.
Looking at the stunning woman within reach, Qin Yefeng felt both temptation and hesitation. Then he extended his hands.
Breaking away the remaining ice, the woman suddenly frowned.
She was clearly at a critical moment between life and death. If he didn’t act, she would soon perish!
Qin Yefeng thought for a moment. His Burning Heaven Dragon Flame could refine all spiritual energy—it should be able to refine her chaotic energy as well.
So he lifted the woman, sat her upright, and released his flame, carefully surrounding her body.
Before long, the blue ice crystals on her body melted away.
Sweat covered Qin Yefeng’s forehead. All his focus was on her.
After all, the flame could refine everything—if he lost control, she might be completely incinerated!
Seeing her eyelashes tremble, Qin Yefeng felt relieved. She was waking up. He slowly withdrew the flame.
At that moment, the ice around her eyes shattered.
Her features were like a painting, as if carved from jade. Her eyes were clear like autumn water, deeply moving.
However, as the flame refined the energy in her body, her white gauze clothing had been burned away, leaving her completely exposed.
Only now did Qin Yefeng fully see her. His mind buzzed, his breathing grew heavy, and his heart raced uncontrollably.
Half-conscious, the woman felt cold and instinctively threw herself into Qin Yefeng’s arms for warmth.
Her slender figure and faint fragrance made it impossible for Qin Yefeng to restrain himself. His hands began to move.
Her eyes suddenly opened, and their gazes met.
Just as Qin Yefeng was losing control, a sharp slap landed on his face.
“You shameless thief! What are you trying to do to me?!”
The woman flipped away, her face flushed, her eyes sharp like blades as she glared at him.
“Hey! What are you doing? I saved you!” Qin Yefeng snapped back to reality, stepping back awkwardly.
“Saved me? By groping my chest?” she scolded angrily, her chest rising with fury.
“I…” Qin Yefeng wanted to explain that she had approached him first, but realized it wouldn’t sound right.
“You bold scoundrel, how dare you bully me?” she shouted, eyes wide. “Today I’ll gouge out your eyes and cut off your hands, so you’ll never see or touch a woman again!”
She drew a purple long sword and lunged forward.
Suddenly, she staggered back, her face turning pale. Her previous injuries made it impossible to use her strength.
“Ah!”
She cried out, suddenly realizing she wasn’t wearing any clothes, and quickly covered herself.
Qin Yefeng, not a man ruled purely by lust, took out a set of clean clothes from his storage pouch and handed them to her.
“Don’t look! Turn around!” she shouted.
Sighing, Qin Yefeng turned his back.
The woman hesitated, her expression complicated. Instead of taking his clothes, she retrieved her own garments from her storage ring and changed.
A faint blush lingered on her face. Feeling the power within her body, she realized her previously chaotic Taiyin energy had stabilized—and her cultivation had even advanced.
Her gaze grew complicated as she looked at Qin Yefeng’s back.
“Was it really you who saved me?” she asked softly.
“Of course. If I had ill intentions, I could have tied you up long ago. Why would I let you wake up and try to kill me?” Qin Yefeng replied helplessly.
Her eyes softened slightly. She seemed to want to say something—but stopped herself.
