Chapter 84: Letter 2
“The youngster is late.”
The leader of the Four Fiends, the Chaos Sect Master, muttered this while waiting for the Heaven and Earth Sect Master. To them, the Heaven and Earth Sect Master could only be a youngster. He was not yet forty, and it seemed he hadn’t accomplished much within the Heaven and Earth Sect headquarters.
Reports from infiltrated spies consistently stated he was only interested in wine and women, and lazy in martial arts training.
The Chaos Sect Leader had already finalized agreements with the other Four Fiends Sect Leaders to secure his position as the Nine Heavens Alliance Leader.
The Chaos Sect Leader believed that by pressuring the Heaven and Earth Sect Leader, who was holed up in his headquarters, and the mysterious Heavenly Ghost Sect Leader, whose intentions were unknown, he could turn this war into an opportunity to rise as the Nine Heavens Alliance Leader.
He anticipated little resistance, reasoning that while the Heaven and Earth Sect Leader had shown exceptional talent since youth, the cultivation levels of the other Four Fiends were also formidable.
After waiting another half-hour with the Five Great Lords of the Nine Heavens assembled, Heaven and Earth Lord Beomye, a smile now spread across his face, slowly emerged, hands clasped behind his back.
“It’s been a long time, everyone.”
The Chaos Sect Leader nodded and gestured toward the seat at the end.
“Please sit.”
At those words, Beomyeo glanced briefly at the other leaders and smiled.
