Chapter 148: Visitor
While Baek Moo-jin was fast asleep with his feet propped up on the railing in a drunken stupor, someone was flung out the door from the inn across the street.
It seemed a fight had broken out between those of mediocre martial prowess.
Baek Moo-jin drifted into a light sleep while listening to the sounds of the fight.
Someone chased after them, shouting, and threw a punch. The sound of fists striking faces echoed intensely.
“You son of a bitch!”
They were evenly matched, and both seemed to have good stamina. They kept punching each other in the face.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Others rushed out in a crowd and pulled them apart.
To Baek Moo-jin’s ears, all this noise sounded peaceful.
It was a peaceful fight where no one seemed likely to die.
It was the kind of drunken brawl common among intoxicated revelers.
Listening to that sound, Baek Moo-jin, drunk, began to drift off to sleep.
A crash sounded, and a wooden structure—whether a door or a railing, he couldn’t tell—shattered. Someone picked up a piece of the broken wood and threw it. It sliced through the air and flew toward Baek Moo-jin.
Was it an accident, or was it intentional?
Baek Moo-jin had his eyes closed and couldn’t tell, but the onlookers, seeing the flying piece of wood, spotted Baek Moo-jin and shouted.
“Whoa!”
With his eyes still closed, Baek Moo-jin lightly waved his hand, and the wood clattered to the floor.
As Baek Moo-jin crossed his arms again and exhaled deeply, both the men who had been punching each other in the face and those who had been trying to break up the fight fell silent at once.
