Chapter 112: The Fallen Swordsman 1
Under the moonlight, Baek Moo-jin took in the entire scene of the Jinryeong Trading Guild.
How could the demon hybrid be living so unscathed?
Had they been lying low, building their strength after their defeat by Bicheon?
Had they expanded their influence by making contact with masters like the Holy Bow Palace or himself?
With these questions swirling in his mind, Baek Moo-jin alternated his gaze between the main gate and the walls of the Jinryeong Trading Guild before leaping effortlessly atop the wall.
The interior was larger than expected.
Though called a merchant guild, the interior was indistinguishable from the residence of a high-ranking official.
Baek Moo-jin tilted his head.
‘Is this really a merchant guild?’
Baek Moo-jin walked along the top of the wall for a moment, admiring the garden and pond. A two-story pavilion protruded from the center, flanked on either side by dozens of densely packed private rooms.
Just below Baek Moo-jin, the warriors of the Jinryeong Trading Company were strolling along the corridor connecting the private rooms, conversing in hushed tones.
“They say Jang Noya is a retired martial artist…”
“No way?”
“What do you mean ‘no way’? I heard it from Brother Ilgang…”
“Brother Ilgang?”
At that moment, a loud shout echoed from inside the main hall, causing the two men to stop talking. Then, one of them continued.
“I knew it would come to this. To appear so suddenly like this… The reason Jang Noya performed the golden basin ritual (a ceremony where a martial artist washes their hands in a golden basin to signify retirement) was to secretly assist our elder.”
