Chapter 393
Ascetic Practice (4)
I don’t know how much time has passed.
Whoosh, whoooosh!
The same repeated swinging of the weapon as before.
‘By now.’
It was no longer fun.
Only suffering remained.
When the five senses are restricted, everything around you disappears.
Nothingness.
I couldn’t tell if I was dreaming of swinging, thinking, or anything at all.
Perhaps even the feeling of having grown stronger until now was an illusion.
‘How many times have I swung?’
This too is all nothingness, so I cannot know.
Maybe not even an hour has passed, or perhaps over a hundred years have flowed by.
Time is relative, and it’s been long since I lost consciousness.
But the only thing clear is that it hasn’t ended yet.
‘Does this not have resistance either…….’
I have a skill called Pain Tolerance.
Something that naturally developed through countless stabbings, cuts, and beatings.
Thanks to that, now when faced with ordinary pain, the first thought that comes to mind is “refreshing.”
However, like this.
The suffering that time brings was something I couldn’t do anything about.
‘In the end.’
This too shall be cured by time.
As time gradually passes, resistance to loneliness will develop.
That would be the true growth of the soul.
‘Ah.’
It was tedious.
But I must not stop just because it’s tedious.
I must swing steadily.
The old man who became a ghost must have had this experience too.
‘Right.’
Let’s move.
