Chapter 161
Delilah’s Memories
Little Delilah loved the stars in the sky.
Looking at the warm starlight made her feel at peace.
At a distance she could never reach.
When she looked at the sky, where beautiful jewels were embedded like grains of sand.
‘Ah.’
She felt comforted.
Compared to those.
Human existence was so insignificant, trivial, and small.
All the suffering and hardship felt like nothing.
Was that why?
She became curious.
Why is that one so big?
Why are there so many of those?
Questions became knowledge, and knowledge gave rise to more questions.
The questions became increasingly sophisticated, and eventually coalesced into a dream.
The dream of an astronomer.
Delilah would take her telescope to the highlands at night.
She preferred [Space Science Magazine] to [World Literature Collection].
‘Ah, the more I learn about the universe, the bigger it gets.’
She smiled innocently.
She thought the sun was the biggest star, but it wasn’t.
Rather, the sun was one of the smaller stars, and tens of trillions of stars like the sun had to gather to form a galaxy.
‘So, dozens of galaxies have to gather to form a galaxy group, and hundreds or thousands of galaxies form a galaxy cluster. And those galaxy groups and clusters have to gather countless times to form a supercluster? And our universe is made up of more than 10 million of those galaxy clusters?’
The amazing thing was.
That was just the observable universe.
We can only see something if there is light.
