Chapter 569
Viscount Hadle continued walking while deep in thought and soon arrived at the castle gate.
“You’ve arrived, Your Grace!”
Upon arriving at the gate, the knight in charge, Pedin, approached and greeted him. Marquis Hadle responded with a brief nod.
“Where are the knights?”
He asked Pedin, who followed him up the stairs to the castle walls.
“They are still waiting outside.”
“Hmm.”
Marquis Hadle let out a low grunt at Pedin’s words. Soon after reaching the top of the ramparts, Marquis Hadle looked out over the castle walls.
“Is that them?”
A short distance from the castle, dozens of knights were gathered.
“Yes.”
Pedin nodded, and the Marquis of Hadle studied the knights intently.
‘They don’t seem like a bunch of amateurs.’
They must have been waiting a long time, yet not a single one of the thirty had slackened their posture.
“Have you checked the surrounding area?”
Looking at the knights, the Marquis of Hadle asked Pedin.
“Yes, we sent scouts everywhere to check for any hidden forces, but we saw none.”
“So, does that mean only the knights arrived?”
He was implying that if troops were present elsewhere, he would hold them accountable.
“…Yes.”
Understanding the Marquis of Hadel’s meaning, Pedin nodded. They had searched thoroughly, and no troops were visible.
“It is certain that only the knights have arrived.”
For some reason, it was certain that only the knights had arrived.
