Chapter 300
Side Story 33
The dawn twilight seeped in through the windowpane.
Turning his head, Charlotte’s face was sleeping right beside him. Breathing faintly, deeply unaware of the world.
Dale silently reached out and placed his hand on Charlotte’s pale, slender shoulder.
Her golden hair trickled through my fingers like grains of sand.
“You’re up early, Dale.”
At the sound, Charlotte also stirred and smiled brightly at Dale.
“Did you sleep well?”
“Hmm, well. Our Dale doesn’t let me sleep much, you see.”
At Dale’s words, Charlotte smiled meaningfully and giggled. After giggling, she reached out her arm.
Charlotte’s fingers landed on Dale’s cheek as well.
“I’m happy.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. And you haven’t forgotten, have you?”
Charlotte smiled as she replied to Dale’s question.
“Son, and we decided to have a daughter too.”
“Yes, we did promise that.”
Dale placed his hand over Charlotte’s and held hers. Charlotte asked, her face slightly flushed.
“What if we have another son next time?”
“……Yeah.”
It was a truly difficult question.
The Saxon Imperial Palace. The Black Gold Monarch and his wife Charlotte appeared within its halls, and countless imperial nobles bowed their heads.
After the so-called ‘Great Purge,’ no one dared to doubt the Black Gold Monarch or attempt to resist him.
Just as people once did before the god of meaninglessness, it would have been the same even if what sat there was not a god but a human being.
