Chapter 88: Lee Geon
Lee Geon, the fifth disciple of the Qing Guang Immortal, the supreme master of the Qingcheng Sect and one of the Five Great Demons of the World, had been unable to see from the moment he could remember.
For some reason, he couldn’t fathom the reason behind it.
All he knew was that he, unable to see, had been abandoned by his parents, and that the mountain keeper grandfather had picked him up and raised him.
The mountain keeper called this nameless child ‘Baby’.
It was a life of scarcity and loneliness, often going hungry and living alone with Grandfather in the forest where no one else was.
Yet he had never truly felt sad.
Because he had never possessed anything, he couldn’t feel deprived either.
As a child, he desired only one thing.
‘I want to see it with my own eyes. My grandfather, myself, this world.’
That was it.
Seeing the world with his own eyes was Lee Geon’s sole wish.
The mountain keeper grandfather always told him stories about the world around them.
About the sun’s form that warms the world and its brilliant light, about the moon and starlight that adorn the dark night beautifully, about the birds and grasshoppers that always bring fresh sounds, and about the trees, grasses, and flowers that are the masters of the fragrances filling the whole world.
Lee Geon longed to see all of these things so very much.
Just hearing the sounds and smelling the scents was so wonderful—how happy he would be if he could see them too.
That was Lee Geon’s only wish as a child.
