Chapter 185: Infiltrating the Emperor’s Tomb – Part 1

The demon lord guards patrolling the outer passage watched the torches of their departing comrades for a moment. When the light faded, they turned to each other and resumed their chatter.

“Did you see the size of that leopard just now?”

“Yeah. It was as big as a tiger.”

“You think that bastard Zhu Gui might have crawled into that leopard’s belly?”

“Oh, come on. Even at his peak, he’d be no match for a mere insect?”

“Who knows? Maybe he was passed out drunk and got neatly swallowed whole. Hehehe!”

Beep!

Suddenly, something flew in from the hallway.

“Huh?!”

“What the?!”

Their eyes widened in shock as they focused on it, and they couldn’t help but gape.

Because it was a small bird, softly glowing in a pale purple hue.

“Th-that thing?!”

“No way!”

The bird flew toward them at a speed barely visible to the eye, abruptly changed direction, and headed toward the entrance before vanishing in an instant, as if it had evaporated.

The demon lords, momentarily stunned, stared in the direction the bird had flown and muttered.

“Did you see that? It wasn’t just me, right?”

“I saw it too. It looked like some kind of glowing bird?”

“I, I saw it too. Wow, was it some kind of spirit creature?”

“First a black tiger as big as a tiger appeared, and now a glowing bird? What on earth does this portend?”
