Chapter 62: Bitterness Swallowed Through Clenched Teeth

Liu Clan.

Today, white silk banners hung high over the Liu Clan.

Seven days had passed. Today was the day the Liu Clan held the funeral for Eldest Brother Liu Cang, the youth Liu Song, and the loyal guards who had died.

“Third Elder, everything is prepared. We are just waiting for dark to begin.”

Several guards carried the coffin over and spoke to Liu Hong, who was dressed in plain white mourning clothes.

“Aunt, do we really not need to open the coffin once more to see clearly how Eldest Uncle died?”

Liu Xu tugged at the corner of Liu Hong’s clothes, her eyes red and swollen.

Liu Hong bit her lower lip, hesitation filling her heart.

Should she look or not?

Perhaps Liu Cang wasn’t killed by Meng Feifan, but by… him.

At the mere thought of Gu Shiyi, her heart pounded violently; she didn’t want to open the coffin, much less dwell on it.

But that was her eldest brother.

She bit her lip and said, “Open the coffin. I’ll look once more.”

“Opening the coffin is forbidden.”

An aged voice came from behind. Liu Qiong walked over, his murky eyes filled with weariness.

“Brother, if I don’t examine it closely, I won’t feel at peace. What if… what if… what if that person really is the killer who murdered Eldest Brother?”

Liu Hong lowered her head, unwilling to even mention that person’s name at a time like this.

Scared that it was him.
