Chapter 47: Benefits
“So, after saying all this, what do you actually mean?”
Gu Shiyi’s words made both Liu Xu and Liu Hong look somewhat embarrassed.
After a long silence, Liu Qing finally sighed, stepped forward with a bow, and said,
“The Liu Clan is in crisis. Liu Song was abducted. He is the sole heir to the Liu Clan, and the Liu Clan’s high-grade mysterious art must not fall into the hands of outsiders. Therefore, we wish to ask for your help to rescue Liu Song and kill Liu Feng.”
Liu Hong nodded repeatedly and said to Lu Jianjia, “In return, from this day forward, the Liu Clan will follow Miss Jianjia’s lead in everything, fully assisting you in securing victory in your family’s successor trial.”
Lu Jianjia was secretly delighted. Aside from Gu Shiyi, she currently had no backing at all. If she could gain the Liu Clan’s assistance, it would naturally be a great advantage.
“What use is a family that can’t even guard its own gates and lets its heir be kidnapped?”
Gu Shiyi’s words caused Liu Hong’s expression to turn grim instantly, while the surrounding guards tightly clenched their fists and glared furiously at Gu Shiyi.
Yet the youth’s ridicule did not stop there.
“I’ve seen Liu Feng. He’s physically frail and not a martial master at all. Any single one of these guards could beat him to death.
Yet he managed to win over Steward Wang and even Meng Feifan, driving the Liu Clan to such a state. Rather than allying with the Liu Clan, I think we’d be better off allying with Liu Feng.”
